The final day of Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth

Today was our final day in our quest for truth and the kids learned that you don’t need to search the whole world to find truth the Bible reveals the truth!

Pastor Jack came today and shared about God’s promises and truth. While he was teaching Illinois surprised him when she came running through the tunnel with a giant boulder rolling right behind her. Thank the Lord she didn’t get crushed, He was protecting her!

The kids got to go to the store and find fun things to spend all their coins on. And every child went home with a coupon from Chick-fil-A and a coupon for a free session at Pump It Up.

We would like to thank all the wonderful volunteers that helped make this event such a wonderful success and blessing to so many children. 163 children received Jesus as their Savior!

Also, thank you to all the parents, neighbors and friends who faithfully brought children each day to experience God’s love and truth. God bless you!

Day four of Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth

The heat hasn’t slowed down our adventurers as they continue on their quest for truth! They’ve learned so many truths already…..they’ve learned that Jesus loves you, God forgives us, and that Jesus is the Savior! Pastor Jack came and taught the kids that there is nothing we can ever do to make God leave us. Remember “ God will never leave you!”

The Professors won the coin contest for the second day in a row. But the Archeologists still have a chance to tie it up by bringing in quarters tomorrow. And congratulations to the team who was finally able to get Illinois Jones in jail.

Today the kids were visited by live parrots, snakes, lizards and even a pony that stands on the Word of God! Although it was hot, the kids had great fun rolling the giant boulders on the lawn, being sprayed with water as they passed the supply tent and enjoying yummy ice cream sandwiches!

Kids be sure to come tomorrow so you can use all your coins in the store and find out what happens Friday on our quest – there’s more truth yet to be found!

Day three of Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth

Every day has been filled with excitement as children from all over our community join Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth. Along with the photos below here are a few of Wednesday’s highlights:

·Today, there were 1,167 adventurers who heard great news from the Professor about Jesus and how He provides salvation for anyone who will believe in Him.

·Echo Canyon was very loud today as kids hammered and stamped leather bracelets.

·Group guides help kids unlock the mystery to the Mystery Cave. Adventurers, don’t forget to tell your group guide if you haven’t unlocked the mystery yet!

·Jesus is the Savior! – was today’s password. Knowing the password keeps you out of jail….so far no one has been able to put Illinois Jones in jail.

Be sure to visit our blog tomorrow to find out more and look for your friends!

Day two of Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth

Today Illinois Jones and her assistant discovered the Dead Sea Scrolls. These ancient parchments are one of the greatest finds in the past 2,000 years, proving the authenticity and reliability of the Bible. The kids found pieces of puzzles, played with real live snakes and worked together in the “Quest for Truth.” What other great finds will Illinois and her friends discover throughout the week? Stay tuned as the fun continues for Illinois Jones and her fellow adventurers.

First day of Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth

Our summer day camp, “The Adventures of Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth” began this week. Check out the pictures below to see a sample of how much fun the kids are having. The church sanctuary and courtyard have been transformed into a jungle, where jeeps, vines, and a suspension bridge takes each child through an exciting, fun-filled journey to seek out the truth of the Bible. Every day is an adventure jam-packed with teachings, skits, delicious snacks, amazing worship, small groups and games. “Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth” is a wonderful way to spend a summer day hanging out with friends and learning about the love of Jesus Christ.

4TH OF JULY PRAYER!

The sanctuary of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills was filled this morning with those who came to pray for our nation. Seven stations were set up throughout the church where believers gathered together in intercessory prayer. We fervently prayed specifically for our government, military, church, families, education, business, and media.

Pastor Jack led us in passionate prayer for our president, leaders, pastors and nation, with those in the body heartily agreeing in one accord.

In closing, Bernie Wolfswinkel fittingly led the congregation in an enthusiastic, heartfelt chorus of God Bless America.

May we continue to pray and intercede for our nation daily. Let’s remember to thank the Lord each day for His abundant grace, mercy, provision, protection and blessings upon our country. God Bless America! And America Bless God!

“I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. As you make your requests, plead for God’s mercy upon them, and give thanks. Pray this way for kings and all others who are in authority, so that we can live in peace and quietness, in godliness and dignity.” style="font-style: italic;">- I Timothy 2:1-2

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS MINISTRY

Every month the Support Our Troops Ministry needs volunteers to gather together to fill boxes of supplies for our troops serving overseas. The body at CCCH donates the items that the boxes are filled with, for those who are fighting for our freedoms and those abroad. The soldiers that receive these care packages are very appreciative and often express their gratitude through handwritten letters. These soldiers are not only receiving the “physical” things that they are in need of, but also a demonstration of the love of Jesus Christ through our giving. Come join the Support Our Troops Ministry every 4th Saturday of the month from 9:30AM to 1:00PM and be blessed!

If you’d like to help provide some of the items for the care packages, please see the list below.

Portions of a letter we recently received:

This is to all who so graciously gave in a care package that ended up at 3/6 H&S company,
currently based on the east side of Fallujah.

I was in visiting the company office this morning when I was handed a couple of ziplock
bags full of “stuff.” Stuff that most people take for granted, but are so wonderful to receive
here. More so than what was given, I appreciated the opportunity that you all took to give
out of love. It means so much to these marines that someone out there cares enough to send
this sort of thing. And just so that you know, every time I get something like this, I put the
Bibles and “scriptually sound” materials out, and it is taken by the marines within a short
amount of time. The potential seed that you are planting out here is seriously accepted. You
are giving marines an opportunity to tune in to the Spirit as He calls them and leads them
into His light. At about month 3 & 4, marines are getting the dear john letters, they are \
taking into consideration the questions of why am I here, why am I lonely, in what do I hold
my identity. This is where the Lord hasled me in my ministry. I come from Calvary Chapel
Jacksonville, NC. I am a worship leader when I’m home. While I’m out here, I get many
opportunities to talk to young marines and give guidance into their lives. It helps to have an
occasional drop of bible literature to reinforce what the Lord is doing out here, so - THANK
YOU for your obedience to the call to mail this “stuff ” out. You have been generous and
gracious with what the Lord has given. Make the most of every opportunity. Pray for us, pray
over the decisions being made that effect us. Pray that we would learn to find our IDENTITY
in Christ. He is the only one that is faithful and consistent in all that we do.

Blessings,
GySgt Redding

CITIZENSHIP SUNDAY

Photobucket

“All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”
- Sir Edmund Burke (1729 - 1797)

Perhaps now, more than ever, these words of Edmund Burke sound prophetic. Today, you and I have the responsibility to honor all those who have gone before us in the cause of freedom by becoming a participant in our God-given government.

Citizenship Sunday is a call to the stewardship of America. The Lord has provided us in the United States with so many luxuries, but none as powerful and effective as the opportunity to let our voices be heard. As a Christian and a concerned citizen, won’t you please take a stand with me to make a difference?

I am asking you to take just a few minutes this Sunday to make your way to the “Citizenship Sunday” tables and register to vote. The tables are located at both the east and west courtyard entrances. You can also visit the Watchman Ministry tables to learn of many other ways that you can help affect the critical issues that jeopardize families, marriages, schools, churches, and our community.

Please respond by getting involved and taking a stand for your biblical rights and freedoms by being an active part of the greatest democracy the world has ever known.

Let’s not nullify the toil, courage, and spilled blood of all those who have made this day possible for you and me.

Register to vote and let your voice be heard!

Pastor Jack Hibbs
