Join us for Prayer Friday, July 4th at 9:00AM

God has truly shed His grace on this country and our prayer is that He will continue to do so.

In order to continue receiving His blessings, it is necessary that we pray for our country and its leaders. If you love this land and desire to see it revived and healed, I personally ask that you join me on Friday, July 4th at 9:00AM to devote an hour to prayer. I would love to see this church as a whole gather together to seek the Lord’s help for our nation.

We will have multiple “altars of prayer” throughout the sanctuary covering a broad range of concerns during this sacrificial hour of prayer. For those of you who are physically able, we will begin a 24-hour fast Thursday morning, July 3rd in preparation for prayer on Friday morning. I ask you to involve your children, neighbors, and all those who would like come and pray. Let’s make this a priority; to pray and intercede for this country like never before!

THE MAN GOD USES - MEN’S SUMMER STUDY

Do you want to be an instrument that God can use to accomplish His will? Join the men at Calvary this summer as we examine the personal characteristics of “The Man God Uses.” We’re meeting on Tuesday nights July 15th – August 19th at 6:45PM in the sanctuary for a 6-week study through the scriptures. New T-shirts this Sunday!

This special project has been in the works for a of couple months. Pastor Jack had an awesome idea to put quotes from our nation's Founding Fathers on t-shirts. What a great way to show your love for God and our country!

Since it's an important election year proudly wear one of these timely messages wherever you go. You'll want one to give to dad for Father's Day and one for yourself to wear to that 4th of July picnic. Make a statement! Let's remind others of America's godly heritage and most importantly to pray for our nation.

VBS Illinois Jones Kick Off this Sunday!

The Adventures of Illinois Jones and the Quest for Truth is a weeklong summer day camp for children entering 1st – 6th grade this fall. This free camp is from 9am – 12noon daily, July 7th through July 11th. We’re heading out on some exciting, fun-filled adventures in our quest for “Truth.” Be sure to have your kids invite their friends to come join the fun.

Pre-registration is requested and begins every Sunday in the courtyard starting June 22nd and in the church office daily Tuesday – Friday from 9am – 5pm. Kids will be treated each day to games, crafts, snacks, drama, music, prizes and more!

You will want to arrive early on the first day to find out what team your child is on and get them all settled and then leave the rest to us! We’ve planned lots of great surprises for this special event and can’t wait to have your children enjoy them!

Super Swordsmen

 
On Father’s Day June 15th, we rewarded elementary age children for memorizing Scripture verses with a Super Swordsman medal. Fifty-four kids received one of these special medals for not only reciting their regular weekly memory verses, but also for learning many bonus passages. Eleven of them earned a Gold Medal, for reciting some 80 Bible verses along with all the books of the Bible and important Bible facts. Congratulations Super Swordsmen!

Shields of Faith – Law Enforcement Fellowship Dinner

 
All Law Enforcement personnel and their spouses are invited to come get to know fellow Christian officers at a fellowship dinner at Old Spaghetti Factory on Sunday, June 22nd.

Fun, fishing and fellowship…plus the sunsets are spectacular!

Join the fun as we set sail again this summer for our annual Twilight Fishing trips. Whether you catch a little sculpin, a giant squid or find a empty hook at the end of your line, you’ll have a great time of fellowship with a boat full of others from CCCH. One year many of us pulled in a great load of yellow tail and bonito!
 
Our trips are all scheduled on Friday evenings from 6PM – Midnight. Join us on either June 20, July 18 or August 15 (or come along for all three). You can sign up in the church office; cost is only $18 per person. Stop in or give us a call for details.

Sea of Galilee, Tiberias - Enjoying a time of worship and teaching on the Sea of Galilee in a wooden boat similar to the boats of Jesus’ day.
 

Caesarea by the Sea - Located on the Mediterranean, this was once a busy seaport where Herod the Great’s palace stood. Caesarea also boasted of a hippodrome used for chariot races.
 


Amphitheater at Caesarea by the Sea - It was at this very amphitheater that Herod was struck down by the judgment of God (see Acts 12: 19-23). At Caesarea, the Apostle Paul gave his defense of the Gospel before thousands and from the beautiful shores of Israel that the Gospel went out throughout the world.
 

VBS “Illinois Jones”

The Children’s Ministry team has been planning our VBS “Illinois Jones” for months now. Things are coming together with only 4 weeks to go. Just take a look at some of the set designs. We will have 2 mysterious “caves,” a suspension bridge to take kids safely across an alligator infested swamp, a base camp for adventurers and a cave with a GIANT rolling boulder for the main stage! God has brought an amazing team of carpenters, painters and artists together as well as people who have so generously donated all the materials!
